Curriculum Vitae

My name is Michael Dahl and this is my site containing my activities and research interests for my colleagues, friends, and interested academic and industrial parties.

I am originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, but currently reside in Minneapolis.

I graduated from a dual degree program with degrees in Physics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA and Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. I have also completed my Masters in Mechanical Engineering (biomechanics) at the University of Washington, as well as my Doctorate at the same institution. In 2012 I received my MBA from St. Thomas University here in Minneapolis.

I currently consult for Zyga Technologies in the field of Spine Orthopaedics. Previously I have worked for a Nucleus Replacement start up company called Disc Dynamics. My doctorate research pertained to the biomechanics of the total ankle, specifically the Alvine Agility Total Ankle System (Depuy Inc). This research was done at the Applied Biomechanics Laboratory under Dr. Randal Ching, along with collaboration with Dr. Stephen Benirschke, Dr. Patricia Kramer, and Dr. Sigvard T Hansen of Harborview Medical Center. My Master's research consisted of determining the damping characteristics of the Bryan Cervical Disc System (Medtronic-Sofamor-Danek Inc.).

I enjoy employment in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics, primarily in small start up companies.
